Mission
To provide students with a Service Learning experience at every grade level.
Vision
Through Service Learning the students at Belding Area Schools will have a sense of civic responsibility and service.
Introduction
Belding Area Schools is currently in their second grant year with the Michigan Community Service Commission and their Learn and Serve grant. This grant provides the district with the funds necessary to grow successful service learning programs at every level of education at Belding Area Schools.

Rachelle Ostrander, Service Learning Coordinator
As Service Learning Coordinator Rachelle oversees all the Service Learning projects throughout the district, manages the advisory board and organizes professional development opportunities for the staff at Belding Area Schools. Rachelle is a paraprofessional for the Special Education Department at Belding High School, where she also coaches cheerleading, and is an assistant advisor for Student Council and Renaissance. Building Representatives
Each building in the district has a representative that will assist staff in the building with project proposals, grant requests and any questions they have about Service Learning. Please contact these representatives with any questions.
