Belding Takes on Comstock Park

Belding took on the Comstock Park Mill Creek Panthers on Tuesday. The 8th grade teams swept Comstock Park while the 7th grade teams split with the Panthers.
The 8th grade “A” team improved to 2 - 0 on the season with a 36 - 10 victory over Comstock Park. Rachel Hunt led the way with 10 points; Mackenzie Breimayer had 9 points; Stephanie Harig and Gabby Holyfield scored 5 points each; Ivey Campbell had 4 points; Brittany Ricks chipped in 2 points and Hannah Linebaugh had 1 point.
The 8th grade “B” team played their first game of the season, and they came away victorious with a 19 -13 win. Carrie Smith scored 7 points; Mariah Paloma dumped in 4 points; Mackenzie Krieger, Alyx VanderRoer, Sarah Rodel and Sabrina Heaton all had a basket for 2 points each.
The 7th grade “A” team moved their record to 2-0 on the season, as they defeated the Panthers 51 - 14. Mariah Carlson paced the team with 12 points; Monica Baylis had 10 points; Alyviah Mason pumped in 9 points; Larissa Syrjala scored 8 points; Mackenzie Sower had 2 buckets for 4 points; and Harley Rode, Mackenzie Rode, Emily LIddicoat, and Danielle Rode all had 2 points.
The 7th grade “B” team fell by a score of 31 - 18. It marked the first game ever for all 13 Belding girls on the team. Maddie Laux kept the ‘skins in the game with 10 points; Joesi Krieger, Ryleigh Boss, Talitha Jones and Kate Ward all had a basket for Belding.
Both 7th grade teams and the 8th grade “A” team return to action today at Sparta. The action tips-off at 4:15.
