Adult Education

Alternative Education
B.A.S.E.
Belding Alternative School of Education (B.A.S.E.) is a progressive alternative high school designed to meet the educational needs of ninth through twelfth grade students who wish to continue their education without enrolling in a “traditional” high school. A Teen-Age Parent Program, T.A.P.P., with a nursery is also available.
“ Another Choice, Another Chance”
Belding’s alternative ed program includes the B.A.S.E. and T.A.P.P. programs. We provide an opportunity for students to be successful by offering tutoring and credit recovery programs. Our curriculum is aligned with the content standards created by the state of Michigan. Students who graduate from our program receive a Belding Area Schools diploma. Because of our extended day and night school classes, students have the opportunity earn additional credits during each trimester. Students are involved with service learning projects, Special Olympics and have earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
School Life
A family-like atmosphere is established in our building, and social activities are planned to reflect that. We host an annual Thanksgiving Feast, a variety of “tournaments”, enjoy cook-outs, and host a “Senior-Senior Prom.” Our community service club organizes projects that will involve all students including canned food drives, Angel baskets and an “Ugly Legs” contest.
Community Education
Belding Area Schools offers an community education program which is made up of classes and activities in which residents may participate.
