Belding High School

Belding High School is a class B high school with an enrollment of approximately 700 students. There are 43 professional staff members including two counselors, a social worker and school psychologist. A 24-member support staff provides assistance to both the teachers and students.

A principal, an assistant principal, and an athletic director compose the administrative team.

All classrooms and office areas are equipped with voice, video and Internet technology. Four computer labs are available for student and faculty use. All teachers have at least one computer for instructional and record keeping purposes.

A new media center highlights the north end of the building, while a state of the art athletic complex exists on the north end of the grounds. A 700+ seat auditorium, with state-of-the-art equipment, is filled often for concerts, drama productions, and community activities.

Belding High School offers a diversified and comprehensive curriculum to its students. Twenty-seven and a half credits are currently required for graduation. Classes are offered in 13 different departments ranging from a specialized special needs curriculum to Advanced Placement and dual enrollment college opportunities. The North Central Association has accredited Belding High School on a yearly basis since the school year of 1916-1917.

Belding High School is proud of the fact that they have now achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three consecutive years. During the 2006-2007 school year the students and staff implemented an innovative trimester schedule model that was well received. BHS is also very proud of the extensive extra-curricular offerings that are made available to the young people who attend our school. More than 50 percent of the student body is involved with at least one of the numerous athletic teams, clubs, or performing arts organizations.
