Darin Syrjala is currently teaching 5th grade at Woodview Elementary. Mr. Syrjala started teaching in Belding in 2003 and spent three years teaching 6th grade at the Belding Middle School after teaching 6th grade in the Morley Stanwood District for five years. He earned his teaching degree at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and his master’s degree from Central Michigan University. Mr. Syrjala enjoys the outdoors, hunting and fishing, playing baseball and basketball, spending time with his wife and five children, coaching, and teaching driver’s education. Mr. Syrjala first got involved in teaching when he was in high school. He was a teacher’s aide, which helped him to decide to become a teacher, in which he could work with and help children learn.
