Mrs. Gillespie has been teaching kindergarten in Belding since 1989. Before that, she taught kindergarten through 6th grade at Shiloh School before it closed. She is originally from the Chicago area and graduated from Purdue University, and later earned her masters degree in reading and language arts from Grand Valley State University. She loves kindergartners because they have such incredible imaginations and they grow up so much their first year of school! She also enjoys their excitement and love of learning and for giving hugs too. She is the school district’s Service Learning Coordinator, and is thrilled to see children of all ages get involved in helping their community as well as the world around them! In her spare time, her 2 boys (Matt and Kyle) keep her busy, as well as the pets that her family fosters for the Humane Society.
