Robert Ranney is the coordinator for educational services to migrant and bilingual students throughout all buildings in Belding Area Schools as well as other school districts in the area. He is also in charge of the regional summer school serving migrant students in four counties. Mr. Ranney received a bachelor of arts degree from Western Michigan University with a major in Spanish and a minor in Latin American area studies. Later he completed classes at Central Michigan University to add English, bilingual and elementary certifications. He has been teaching in Belding since 1978. Mr. Ranney has received several national and state level awards for his work with the migrant families. Mr. Ranney and his wife, Linda, live near Belding. They enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and driving their little blue Miata convertible in the summer.
