As you may have seen in the news recently, MRSA (Methecillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) has been reported at several schools in Michigan and across the nation. I want you to know that the two disinfectant chemicals (restroom and general purpose cleaning) used at Belding Area Schools have both been certified effective against MRSA and other antibiotic resistant bacteria. In addition, anti-microbial hand soap is provided in all district soap dispensers. Follow this link MRSA fact sheet from the Michigan Department of Community Health for further information. Rest assured that the Custodial Department at Belding Area Schools has, and will continue to clean for the health and safety of our staff and students.
